Build Your Piano Song

Work down the numbered steps on the page. Add chords from the Chord Library (or the Add Chord dropdown) to build your sequence, optionally add a melody in step 3, pick a playing style such as Block, Arpeggio or Waltz in step 4, then set your tempo and chord duration in the right-hand panel and press Play Progression to hear the whole arrangement.

The chord sequence is your accompaniment: each chip is one chord held for the number of bars you choose, and it is played with the style you selected. The melody is the tune that plays on top of those chords. You can add melody notes one at a time with the note picker, generate a random melody, or load a ready-made tune from the Melody Library. Both parts play together during preview.

Open the Song Library panel on the right and click any song, for example Twinkle Twinkle Little Star. The builder loads that song's tempo, fills the chord sequence with a matching progression for its key, and loads the song's actual melody notes so the tune plays correctly over the chords. You can then edit any part of it and make it your own.

Yes. Tempo is set in BPM in the Song Settings card, and Duration sets how many bars each chord lasts (1, 2 or 4). Choose Whole Progression to apply one playing style everywhere, or switch to Customize Per Chord to give each chord in your sequence its own style.

Press Record in the Actions card, then play your progression. When you stop recording you can play the take back in the browser and use the Download button to save the audio file to your device. Recording captures the same audio you hear, including both the chords and the melody.
